    surely then he will rouse himself for you
    and restore your rightful habitation.

* Questions: How could Bildat say what he said—speaking for God so surely?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for letting me see that Bildat was so confident in himself that he thought he could speak for You; he showed that he knew the exact timing of Your action. I thank You for reminding me of the gravity of Your commandment when You ordered us not to take Your name in vain. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your teaching that no one can comprehend the thoughts of Yours except the Spirit of Yours (1 Cor 2:11). O Lord! Please forgive my sins, the times when I surely said things referring to what You said when in fact You did not say. Please forgive my taking Your name in vain. Please let me not be the Bildat of my time. Amen
