To talk beneficially, talk briefly...

I. Click here to READ Job 11 first.

II. One thing the Bible teaches:

1 Then Zophar the Naamathite answered and said: 2 “Should a multitude of words go unanswered, and a man full of talk be judged right?

III. Reflection

* QuestionsHow many words did Zophar speak against his gravely ill friend Job, whom he accused of being a multitude of words?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me that while accusing a man in pain of a multitude of words, Zophar spoke at length himself, using 340 words altogetherthe majority of words were sharpened to inflict emotional pain on Job. I thank You for reminding me that this Job's friend had forgotten his original intention to come to show sympathy and comfort him (2:11). I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your teaching on my responsibility for my choice words (Matthew 12:36). O Lord! Please let me be slow in speaking and texting so that my words will be useful in building up people. May the words that can injure people be kept far from me. Amen
