When the Lord is pleased...

I. Click here to READ Nehemiah 8 first.

II. One thing the Bible teaches:

And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, “This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep.” For all the people wept as they heard the words of the Law. 10 Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

III. Reflection

QuestionsWhat is the key to having strength, physically, emotionally, and spiritually?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me that I can have physical, emotional, and spiritual strength in my life when I have the joy of the Lord. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for bringing me to this point and reminding me that the life You lived here on Earth had everything to do with making the Father joyful and well-pleased (Matthew 3:17). O Lord! Please help me today to purposefully live to please You with my manner of life. May I be reminded, as I go through today's living, that the strength I need for my body, my mind, and my soul come from Your joy. Amen
