II. One thing the Bible teaches: (Nehemiah, in his prayer, reminded the Lord of what He commanded Moses about the Israelites, saying...)

8 ... If you are unfaithful I will scatter you among the peoples; but if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though those of you who have been scattered were in the most remote part of the heavens, I will gather them from there and will bring them to the place where I have chosen to cause My name to dwell.’

III. Reflection

QuestionsHow did the Lord say that He would not abandon His people?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for ensuring us that You would never ever abandon us, even when we think no one can see us in our place or in our life situation. Surely, You can, and You can do something about that, too! The collective heavens are vast, but even when I am at the most remote part of the universe, You will gather me up, take me home, and look after me. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your wanting to gather me under Your protective wings and that You never want to leave me by myself (Matthew 23:3728:20). O Lord! I thank You. It is very comforting to know that my almighty Father sees me clearly, no matter where I may be. And that is enough for me. Praise the Lord! Wholeheartedly! Amen
