The booby-trap killing fields...

I. Click here to READ Ezra 4 first.

II. One thing the Bible teaches:

When the enemies of Judah and Benjamin heard that the exiles were building a temple for the Lord, the God of Israel, they came to Zerubbabel and to the heads of the families and said, “Let us help you build because, like you, we seek your God and have been sacrificing to him since the time of Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who brought us here.”

III. Reflection

QuestionsThere are two conflicting words in the above passage. What are they?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing that people cannot truly seek God while they are enemies of one another. It's either hypocritical or deceiving. I thank You for showing me the wisdom of Your people in avoiding the deadly trap. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your warning about the deceptions in the end time (Matthew 24:4-8). O Lord! Many individuals and organizations are here spiritually deceiving people in our world today using the same name of our Lord, the same form of our Scripture, and the same practices of our worship. But they are indeed our enemies! Please give us the wisdom to discern the situations. Today, please help me to yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit as I walk through the killing fields full of booby traps. Amen
