II. One thing the Bible teaches: (About the multi-talented king Uzziah...)

He continued to seek God in the days of Zechariah...

Now he went out and warred against the Philistines... he built cities...

Moreover, Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem...

10 He built towers in the wilderness and hewed many cisterns, for he had much livestock... He loved the soil...

14 Moreover, Uzziah prepared for all the army shields, spears, helmets, body armor, bows and sling stones.

16 ... He entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense...

III. Reflection

QuestionsHow many things did king Uzziah do? Was there anything that he could not do?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for letting me see clearly the multi-talented king Uzziah, who seemed to be able to do many things. He was able to lower himself to study under a teacher, he was able to fight wars, was able to build cities, build towers in the city as well as in the wilderness, was able to transport water for irrigation purposes, was able to raise livestock, was able to do farming, was able to do military management, was able to make use of inventions to build fighting machines... I thank You for showing me that while king Uzziah could do a lot of things, he could not tell the difference between what he could do and what he should not do. And because of that, terrible consequences followed him to his death. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your Word that even when there are things I may do, to build people up, I should not do them  (1 Cor 10:23). O Lord! Today, please teach me the humility to refrain from doing or saying certain things because of Christian love. Amen
