Please teach me to fear...

II. One thing the Bible teaches:

Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem. And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, yet not with a whole heart.

III. Reflection

QuestionsHow does the life of the one whose work is not done wholeheartedly before the Lord turn out to be?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me king Amaziah's life, which did not turn out well. His doing the Lord's work not wholeheartedly eventually led him to (1) turn away from following the Lord, (2) bow down to other gods and idols, (3) become arrogantly boastful, (4) provoke wars, and (5) destroy life wickedly by throwing 10,000 people off the cliff. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your calling people who do not follow You wholeheartedlylukewarm. And You clearly reject lukewarm people (Rev 3:16). O Lord! Please teach me to fear living a life being rejected by You. Please teach me to fear having a life that is like that of Amaziah, just because of not following You wholeheartedly. Amen
