II. One thing the Bible teaches: (king Solomon worshiped the Lord at Gibeon...)

And Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before the Lord, which was at the tent of meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it. In that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, “Ask what I shall give you.”

III. Reflection

QuestionsHow would one know that God is a ready giver?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for letting me know that You are a ready giver because You want us to ask You to give. You are also inclining Your ear to listen to us (Ps. 116:2). I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that You Yourself encourage us to ask with a promise of it to be given (Matthew 7:7). O Lord! Today, please teach me to ask, as Solomon did, for wisdom and knowledge to serve, not self, but Your people. Please teach me to pray more regularly. Amen
