13 When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, 14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Dear Lord God: I thank You for laying out clearly for me to see what You want Your people to do—humble ourselves, pray to You, seek Your face, and turn from the wicked ways. I thank You for showing me models of these God-pleasing qualities in Moses for humility, in Daniel for prayer, in Joseph for seeking You, and in David for repentance. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your own model to live a life that pleases the Father (John 6:38). O Lord! Now that I know what a God-pleasing life is, please help me to live such a life. Amen
