Cleansed by water, Saved by His blood...

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (king Solomon prepared the interior of the house of the Lord with needed furnishings to make it functional for the purpose of worship...)

He also made ten basins in which to wash, and set five on the south side, and five on the north side. In these they were to rinse off what was used for the burnt offering, and the sea was for the priests to wash in.

III. Reflection

QuestionsHow big was the sea? Why was it called the sea for the purpose of washing for the priests?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for letting me know that this sea in the temple is about 14 feet in diameter and 7.5 feet deep. While I do not know why it was called the sea, as in the Red Sea, I thank You for showing me that cleansing of people surely requires a lot of water. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that cleansing of people's sins requires the quality of blood rather than the quantity of bloodthe blood of the sinless Son of God (1 John 1:7). O Lord! Please help me today to live a life that shows that I have been plucked out of the sea of sins and saved. Amen

O Lord Jesus, I pray for certain readers today who have not experienced the amazement of Your saving blood. Though their sins—as mine are like scarlet, You will make them as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, You will make them as white as wool. May they cry out the word, "Lord, I need You," to begin experiencing salvation. Today. Amen
