II. One thing the Bible teaches: (the Lord sent the Prophet Azariah to King A-sa with a message...)

The Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded, and he went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin...

As soon as Asa heard these words, the prophecy of Azariah the son of Oded, he took courage...

III. Reflection

QuestionsWhat was the message delivered by the Prophet Azariah in verses 3-7?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for letting me know that Your messenger does not have to deliver bad news all the time. I thank You for showing me that constructive and kind words were given to king Asa, and that, after hearing them, he was encouraged and continued doing God-pleasing tasks. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your being a wholehearted encourager (Matthew 16:15-19). O Lord! Please let me not forget that there are a lot of needs for encouraging words out there in life and, particularly, in the lives of people in the community of faith. Please let me not be stingy about using my words to encourage people. There are times to seriously teach people, and there are times to sincerely compliment people. Please teach me, Lord, to find the balance. Amen
