Pray as king Asa...

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (facing a huge army of 1 million Ethiopian fighters...)

11 And Asa cried to the Lord his God, “O Lord, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. O Lord, you are our God; let not man prevail against you.”

III. Reflection

QuestionsHave we ever prayed as King Asa did?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me that the key to winning an impossible battle is the Asa prayer. I thank You for showing me that Asa came to You first, that he confessed that there was none like You to help him, that he admitted that he was the weak party, that he declared his reliance on You, that You were his God, and that the battle was Yours. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your own prayer--all is for the glory of the Father (John 12:28). O Lord! Please train me today to pray the Asa prayer, aiming at asking for Your glory in the end. Amen
