II. One thing the Bible teaches: (King Rehoboam prepared his army and fighting machine for a civil war to recapture the territory, then...)

‘Thus says the Lord, You shall not go up or fight against your relatives. Return every man to his home, for this thing is from me.’” So they listened to the word of the Lord and returned and did not go against Jeroboam.

III. Reflection

QuestionsAgain, one should give credit where credit is due. What credit should King Rohoboam be given now?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for letting me know that although King Rohoboam did not listen to the right group of people previously, this time he did listen to the right GodJehovah. Although his fighting army was all set to start a civil war, when the Lord told him to stop, stop he did without question. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your teaching about the blessing of being obedient to the Lord (Luke 11:27-28). O Lord! Today, please help me want to be blessed through obedience. Amen
