God destroyed Judah, yes, Judah...

II. One thing the Bible teaches:
2 And the Lord sent against him [Jehoiakim, king of Judah] bands of the Chaldeans and bands of the Syrians and bands of the Moabites and bands of the Ammonites, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by his servants the prophets.
III. Reflection
* Questions: Which one is more frightening: the destruction of Judah or the prophecy about it generations earlier?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for letting me know that the destruction of Your Judah by You Yourself is so frightening to read. It tells me so much about Your wrath toward what that nation did that was not pardonable. But what was even more frightening to read was that the punishment had been foretold years earlier (Jer 36:30), and no repentance or corrective action had been taken. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your teaching that not knowing is no excuse for not doing right (John 15:22). O Lord! Today, please remind me that Your punishment is stiff and even the ones You love could face it if Your clear warning is brushed off. That warning has been believing in Jesus Christ to have life forever, otherwise, eternal death. As for me, now that I have believed, please help me live accordingly. Amen
