II. One thing the Bible teaches: (about the children of David...)
1 These are the sons of David who were born to him in Hebron... 4 six were born to him in Hebron... 5 These were born to him in Jerusalem... four... 8 ... nine. 9 All these were David's sons, besides the sons of the concubines, and Tamar was their sister.
III. Reflection
* Questions: How many children did David have with his official wives?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank you for showing me that David had at least 20 children with his different wives. I thank You for showing me that You did not forget to list his daughter, Tamar, on this long list of his children. I thank You for reminding me that You value male and female alike as You personally created them to be male and female in Your own image (Genesis 1:27). I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your many dignified interactions with women Yourself (John 4:9). O Lord! Today, please help me follow Your own example to show honor to You by treating male and female the same, as each was made in Your own image. You must have divinely purposed so in Your creation. Amen
