II. One thing the Bible teaches: (thinking of transporting the Ark to Jerusalem...)
1 Then David consulted with the captains of the thousands and the hundreds, even with every leader. 2 David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if it is from the Lord our God, let us send everywhere to our kinsmen who remain in all the land of Israel, also to the priests and Levites who are with them in their cities with pasture lands, that they may meet with us; 3 and let us bring back the ark of our God to us, for we did not seek it in the days of Saul.”
III. Reflection
* Questions: Of the 2 conditional IFs above, which one is more important to bring the ark of the Lord to Jerusalem?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for letting me know that both conditions are equally important for the outcome to happen, namely, the bringing back of the ark of the Lord. I thank You for letting me see that not because the one condition was from You, every other condition was overridden. That could happen, but You did not want it that way. You wanted the other IF condition—the one from the people—to be satisfied as well. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your teaching: You have Your desire, but You also are willing to wait for it to happen (Matthew 24:14). You are not rushing the process. O Lord! Please help me not to blindly do things without considering the intention of Your will. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your willingness to wait for all to be saved. Please teach me to wait. Amen
