Fright is right...

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (four leprous men took a risk to enter an enemy's military camp only to find out that it had been abandoned in a hurry. A lot of food and other supplies were left behind. They enjoyed themselves at unexpected feasts...)

Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, but we are keeping silent; if we wait until morning light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come, let us go and tell the king’s household.”

III. Reflection

QuestionsWhy did they say they were not doing right?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for letting me understand the wrongness of the men's realization in not spreading the news. They must spread the news because it was the good news—the enemy's threat was no more because of what the Lord had done. People needed to know that to be free from being under mental oppression and fright. They must spread the news because it was another piece of good news—there was plenty of food while their people were hungry. But there was another reason they must spread the news. There was a consequence for such inaction—punishment. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your expectation of me to be the spreader of the good news (Matthew 28:18-20). O Lord Jesus and Savior! Today, please open up an opportunity for me to tell other people about You. Or else, I should fear punishment. Or else, I should fear disappointing You. Amen
