Not to lose heart in prayers...

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (The dead boy's mother came to Elisha for help. He told his man Gehazi to go, and put his staff on the boy's face...)
31 Then Gehazi passed on before them and laid the staff on the lad’s face, but there was no sound or response. So he returned to meet him and told him, “The lad has not awakened.”
III. Reflection
* Questions: What could possibly go through Elisha's mind when he heard Gehazi's report?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for relating me to the possible disappointments in Elisha, who did not have what he expected to happen. His staff did not work, or it no longer worked, or he was not effective anymore as the man of God. But I thank You for showing me that Elisha did not act on such disappointment. He kept coming to the dead boy himself. He prayed. He prayed again, and again he prayed. And then the boy was revived. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that persistent prayer will yield results (Luke 18:1-8). O Lord! Please help me today not to be disappointed because of unanswered, or yet-to-be-answered, prayers. Please help me today to keep praying because that is Your teaching. Period. Amen
