Insensitive people, Incredible God...

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (the three kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom went to war against the king of Moab by way of the wilderness. After 7 days, the alliance of kings got into trouble for having no water supply both for their army and animals...)
11 But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there not a prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, “Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.” 12 Jehoshaphat said, “The word of the Lord is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
III. Reflection
* Questions: Does anything sound strange in Jehoshaphat's statement?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me that the alliance of the three kings did one insensitive thing to You--they came to consult You after the fact when they were in deep trouble. Yet, You showed Yourself to be an incredible God — You still helped them out of trouble. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that You are the God of kindness and love (Titus 3:4-5). O Lord! Please help me to be like You today—treat people with kindness, even when treated with insensitivity. Amen
