Man made gods...
I. Click here to READ 2 Kings 17 first.
II. One thing the Bible teaches: (even when people were taught how to fear the Lord...)
29 But every nation still made gods of its own and put them in the houses of the high places which the people of Samaria had made, every nation in their cities in which they lived.
III. Reflection
* Questions: What makes the above verse very illogical?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me the part that makes no sense in the history of mankind, and that is man making gods. Yet, people are very proud of their making to the point of worshipping them sacredly. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that You are the God who made rather than being made (Col 1:16). O Lord! Today, please help me live in a manner of true worship--Your creation being submitted to, and depending upon, the Creator--You. Amen
O Lord! Today, I am praying for certain readers who are making for themselves gods and then worship them. Please make them aware that we are supposed to worship our Maker, who is the almighty God, You, the Creator. Amen
