II. One thing the Bible teaches:
1 Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse declares, the man who was raised on high declares, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, 2 “The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue.
III. Reflection
* Questions: What did David say that showed his commendable humility?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me David's commendable humility in that he acknowledged that his being elevated, his being able to author psalms for the nation of Israel to use in worshiping You, and his being able to speak the Word of the Lord--all were made possible because he put himself under authority over him in the anointing process. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that You Yourself went through the anointing to be sent on God-appointed missions (Luke 4:17-18). O Lord! Today, please train me to submit myself to others for the work of the Kingdom. Amen
