Personalizing God...

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (King Solomon said to King Hiram of Tyre...)
5 Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of the Lord my God...
III. Reflection
* Questions: What did king Solomon personalize in his statement?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me here that Solomon did personalize You, "my God", even though he could have said "our God" on behalf of his people in front of a foreign leader. I thank You for showing me that personalizing You isn't selfish, as in hogging You. Personalizing You is clinging to You and being owned by You. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that You Yourself also often personalized Father God. The last time You did so was on the cross when Your Father God disowned You, His beloved and only Son, because of my sins, and the sins of all humanity (Matthew 27:46). O Lord! Please remind me to personalize You to be my Lord and my Savior. You are my Jesus; please help me to cling to You to live. Today. Amen
