When the Lord gives--generously...

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (Solomon's wisdom was made widely famous. People everywhere in the land came to hear his wisdom, and it was acknowledged that...)
29 God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.
III. Reflection
* Questions: What is the difference between what Solomon asked, "Give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil," and what God gave as shown in verse 29 above?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me that while Solomon only asked for an understanding heart, You gave him very great insight. While he never asked for more than the wisdom needed to serve his people, You gave him as much as there is sand on the seashore. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that wisdom can be given and You are a generous giver of it (James 1:5). O Lord! Please give me the wisdom I need to interact with people around me, starting from my own home out to the community of faith. Amen
