II. One thing the Bible teaches: (Adonijah's attempt to make himself king over all of Israel --bypassing Solomon--failed. David immediately made Solomon king officially and publicly. Soon after, Solomon spoke about the man who wanted to overthrow him...)

52 Solomon said, “If he is a worthy man, not one of his hairs will fall to the ground; but if wickedness is found in him, he will die.”

III. Reflection

QuestionsSince Solomon had all the evidence, why did he say, "If wickedness is found in [Adonijah], [Adonijah] will die"?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me that, in the righteousness of man, if a person's wickedness is found, death will surely result. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that there is no doubt that You know we have all sinned (Romans 3:23). Yet, none of us will die if we accept Your unique plan of salvation. The plan that costs You all and costs us nothing (John 3:16). O Lord Jesus! Please help me live gratefully today. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for stepping into the world to seek and save us. Amen

O Lord! Today, I pray for certain readers who have not welcomed You as Savior of their lives. Please give them the knowledge that the price has been paid in full for their true peace and freedom. Please urge them to confidently take the steps to follow You. Today. Amen
