Do Good: a life mission...

I. Click here to READ 1 Samuel 26 first.

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (having spared Saul's life for the second time, this time, David said to the king...)

24 Now behold, as your life was highly valued in my sight this day, so may my life be highly valued in the sight of the Lord, and may He deliver me from all distress.”

III. Reflection

QuestionsIf David expected a favor or a favor, what would he have said?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me that David did not do good with the intent that people would return good to him. He did know, however, that You see everything and that You will act appropriately (v24). That was much more important to David. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your promise that You do see and that You do observe what people have done (Rev. 22:12). May I not do good to people to get people to return good; may I do good because that was the reason You created me for. Amen
