No chance, all planned...

II. One thing the Bible teaches (being back in her in-law's homeland of Israel, Ruth was set to go to work the job of a lowly poor person in the then-society to support her family headed by a widow, Naomi...)

And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field and glean among the ears of grain after one in whose sight I may find favor.” And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.” So she departed and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers; and she happened to come to the portion of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech.

III. Reflection

QuestionsWhat does it mean by "she happened to come to the portion of the field belonging to Boaz"?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me that nothing happens by chance, even when it may seem to be the case, even in our being shortsighted. You had planned for Ruth to come to Israel even before Naomi's family left Israel to go to Ruth's country. You had planned for Ruth to go to that particular field of Boaz before she left the house that morning. You had planned for Ruth to meet the owner of that specific field, Boaz. And You had planned all along for the Savior Jesus Christ to come as an offspring in the lineage of Ruth and Boaz. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to give me the assurance that You are on Your throne governing this world--and my life--even today. Nothing escapes Your attention and permission (Ephesians 1:11). Oh Lord! Today, may I be at peace knowing that my Father reigns and He is the Govern-er. Amen
