II. One thing the Bible teaches (After the battle between the two peoples, the Philistines brought back to their people the prize. That prize was the ark of the Lord...)

Then the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it to the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon. When the Ashdodites arose early the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and set him in his place again.

III. Reflection

QuestionsHow big was the God of the Philistines?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me today how small the god of the Philistines was. Their god was so small that they could take their god up and set their god down any time they wanted. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to show me that my God is so big and powerful that You can take me up from any place and set me down wherever You please. O Lord! I am so thankful that my God is in charge of me, and I am not in charge of my God. Today, please remind me that I may serve You and worship You, but I am not in charge of You. Ever. Amen
