The devil fears, but we don't hold dear...

II. One thing the Bible teaches (At the time, Israel had been severely oppressed by the Canaanites for over 20 years. Israel's leader, Prophetess Deborah, summoned Barak, a military commander, saying...)
6 ... “Behold, the Lord, the God of Israel, has commanded, ‘Go and march to Mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men from the sons of Naphtali and from the sons of Zebulun. 7 I will draw out to you Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his many troops to the river Kishon, and I will give him into your hand.’” 8 Then Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go.”
III. Reflection
* Questions: What if Prophetess Deborah decided not to go as requested by Commander Barak?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me that, as Barak insisted, he wouldn't go to war against the Canaanites if Deborah did not go with him. And if he hadn't gone, the oppression of the Israelites would have continued past the 20-year mark. I thank You for showing me that companionship is very important in the work of the ministry. It has its own immeasurable strength that the devil fears, but we, the Christians, often underestimate. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that when You sent Your disciples out to do the kingdom work, You sent them out in pairs (Luke 10:1). That was because You had the important companionship and co-laboring in mind. O Lord! Today, help me defeat the strategy of the devil by not letting Your people work alone. Help me, Lord, to not weaponize my participation while in a team. Help me to remember that withdrawing my being there for my brother or sister in ministry plays well into the devil's winning scheme. Amen
