Sail not when it's stormy...

II. One thing the Bible teaches (being bound and delivered to the 3000 angry Philistines, Samson, filled with the Spirit of the Lord, defeated and killed 1000 people using only a donkey's jawbone...)
18 Then he became very thirsty, and he called to the Lord and said, “You have given this great deliverance by the hand of Your servant, and now shall I die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?” 19 But God split the hollow place that is in Lehi so that water came out of it. When he drank, his strength returned and he revived.
III. Reflection
* Questions: What condition was Samson in when he called to the Lord? Was it a prayer or was it a tantrum? What did the Lord do in response to him?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me that things said when I am very tired and exhausted may be regrettable. That is true when I speak to another person or even to You. Throwing a tantrum, physically or verbally, is definitely not a thing to do to anyone, let alone to You! Thank You, Lord, for showing me Your being gracious in that You did not say anything to Samson in his anger. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of the gentleness and humility of my Lord (Matthew 11:28-29). O Lord! Today, please help me refrain from talking to anyone when I am so exhausted. Please train me to be gentle and humble, as You are, starting with my family. Amen
