Remember. Repent. Redo...

II. One thing the Bible teaches (when their leaders died, the Israelites forsook the Lord and served many other foreign gods. The Lord sold them to other powers in the region...)
10 Then the sons of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying, “We have sinned against You, for indeed, we have forsaken our God and served the Baals.” . . . 15 The sons of Israel said to the Lord, “We have sinned, do to us whatever seems good to You; only please deliver us this day.” 16 So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord; and He could bear the misery of Israel no longer.
III. Reflection
* Questions: How many gods did the Israelites leave God, the Jehovah, for? How many times did they admit, in the above three-verse Scripture passage, that they have sinned against the Lord? What one meaningful action did they do following the verbal admission?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me that the two times of confession by the Israelites in the above three verses were backed up by concrete actions — putting away the foreign gods that caused their problems in the first place, before serving You. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your teaching on restoration--remember where I have fallen, repent, and redo the early deeds (Rev 2:5). Dear Lord, today please help me to have the courage to repent sincerely to keep on with my spiritual journey following You. Daily. Amen
