II. One thing the Bible teaches
43 So the Lord gave Israel all the land which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they possessed it and lived in it. 44 And the Lord gave them rest on every side, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers, and no one of all their enemies stood before them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hand. 45 Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass.
III. Reflection
* Questions: How many years were there since Abraham was promised the land until his descendants entered, possessed, and lived in that Promised Land?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God, 470 years is a very long time for anything to be forgotten. Not so for the Jehovah God. I thank You, God, for reminding me that the one who testified that "not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass" was Joshua (v45). He was the one who actually assigned land to all descendants of the promise. The Lord does not forget! However, I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that Your redeeming blood from the cross has the direct effect that causes God the Father to completely forget my sins (Heb 8:12). O Lord! Today, please help me to trust You because You do not forget Your promises. Please help me to give thanks to You because You do forget my sins. Amen
I pray for certain readers who have yet to enjoy your forgetfulness of their sin. O Lord, please lead them to the redeeming blood of the Lord Jesus to experience such joy. Today. Amen
