A second chance to amend...

I. Click here to READ Joshua 17 first.

II. One thing the Bible teaches (on apportioning land to the sons of Manasseh...)

12 But the sons of Manasseh could not take possession of these cities, because the Canaanites persisted in living in that land. 13 It came about when the sons of Israel became strong, they put the Canaanites to forced labor, but they did not drive them out completely . . .  17 Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh, saying . . . 18 . . . You shall drive out the Canaanites, even though they have chariots of iron and though they are strong.”

III. Reflection

QuestionsWhat was the second opportunity mentioned in the above Scriptural passage?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me that You did not give up on Manasseh, even though they did not do what they should have done when they had the opportunity. You gave them another opportunity to live in peace, now and for future generations to come, without their enemies being involved. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to show me that in You, people always have a second chance--the poor, the captives, the blind, the oppressed (Luke 4:18-19), even the criminal or the betrayed. O Lord! Help me today to repent my sins every day to take the opportunity to start a morning anew in Your faithfulness. Amen

I pray for certain readers to realize the need for a do-over for their lives. May they know that not only will You give an opportunity for such action, but also You will give them the needed strength to accomplish just that. May such dear readers respond to Your invitation, "Follow Me." Today. Amen
