Fear not the fearsome...
I. Click here to READ Joshua 11 first.
II. One thing the Bible teaches (the great alliance of 12 countries in the area came out together to fight against Israel...)
4 They came out, they and all their armies with them, as many people as the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots. 5 So all of these kings having agreed to meet, came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel. 6 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid because of them..."
III. Reflection
* Questions: What was the impossible thing mentioned in the above Scriptural passage?
IV. Application
Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me the greatest task that only You can do: counting sand on the seashore. The fighting men of the opposing forces at that time must have been so many and very intimidating! I also thank You for letting me hear clearly the strictest order to Joshua that only You can give when facing such an unfolding event, "Do not be afraid!" I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that You know me full well that I am full of fear (of adversaries, adversities, health uncertainties, etc), and my Lord Almighty is standing ready to help (Matthew 10:30-31). O Lord! Please train me to trust You and fear not the fearsome because You are the Immanuel being with me and in me. What shall I fear? Whom shall I fear? (Ps. 27:1). O Praise the Lord. Amen
