Here the blessings, there the curses...

I. Click here to READ Deuteronomy 28 first.

II. One thing the Bible teaches (After teaching about the blessings of obeying the Lord, the Lord gave a warning about not obeying Him...)

15 But it shall come about, if you do not obey the Lord your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

III. Reflection

QuestionsThe consequences of not obeying the Lord are many, in fact, very many. From verse 15 until the end, how many consequences can be counted?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God, I thank You for giving me the patience to count the consequences of not obeying You — the warning that You gave Your children ahead of time. The consequences, indeed, were too many! One hundred twenty-seven (127) by my count. O Lord! I thank You for giving me a sense of fear and terror when I had to confront each of them (consequences) in slow motion, when counting. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your own example of obedience when You went through the excruciating death on the cross to provide salvation for humanity (Luke 22:42). Dear Lord Jesus, I know I cannot be in obedience to You all the time. In fact, a lot of times when I fell short, Your grace from the cross lifted me up despite. Too many times. Thank You, Lord Jesus.

Today, I pray for certain readers who are yet to experience Your grace. Please let them know that their past sins have been forgiven without them working anything to earn it. May they know such true meaning of grace. Amen
