Thankful-be content, Thankless-be distressed...

I. Click here to READ Deuteronomy 26 first.

II. One thing the Bible teaches (In the promised land, as an Israelite took the first of all produce of the ground to the altar, he would reverently say to the Lord...)

10 Now behold, I have brought the first of the produce of the ground which You, O Lord, have given me.’ And you shall set it down before the Lord your God, and worship before the Lord your God; 11 and you and the Levite and the alien who is among you shall rejoice in all the good which the Lord your God has given you and your household.

III. Reflection

QuestionsWhat kind of attitude should an Israelite have in giving an offering to the Lord?

IV. Application

Dear Lord God: I thank You for teaching me (1) to realize that all my "first of the produce" came from the Lord, and (2) to be content with all the blessings that You have given me and my family. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for bringing me to this point to remind me that having contentment along with godliness is a great benefit (1 Ti 6:6). Dear Lord, please remind me today that all I have comes from You; help me to be content with Your giving. Amen
