Not promised? Not for me...

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (The Lord established boundaries for the promised land. He also set a procedure to divide the land among His people according to each tribe...)
13 So Moses commanded the sons of Israel, saying, “This is the land that you are to apportion by lot among you as a possession, which the Lord has commanded to give to the nine and a half tribes. 14 For the tribe of the sons of Reuben have received theirs according to their fathers’ households, and the tribe of the sons of Gad according to their fathers’ households, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their possession. 15 The two and a half tribes have received their possession across the Jordan opposite Jericho, eastward toward the sunrising.”
III. Reflection
* Questions: What happened to the two and a half tribes (Gad, Ruben, and half Manasseh) according to today's map of the world?
IV. Application:
Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me that the east side of the Jordan River today does not belong to the Israelites anymore. I thank You for showing me that not wanting to cross the river to live in the promised land caused the tribes of Gad, Ruben, and half of Manasseh to disappear from the Israelite family. They chose to not accept the promised land because of the green pastures on their side of the Jordan River (Num 32:1-5), which lasted for about 500 years in the scale of eternity. Not a wise choice! What a lack of trust! I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that You are the good Shepherd who takes me to the green pasture (Ps. 23:2). O Lord! Today, please help me choose the green pasture down the road from me and on the other side of the river, rather than the seemingly green pasture that You did not promise and which I am standing on right now. Help me trust You and wait for You, O Lord. Amen
