The problems of complaining...
I. Click here to READ Numbers 11 first.
II. One thing the Bible teaches: (Transitioning through the desert to the promised land, the Israelites became dissatisfied with God's arrangement for their living...)
4 The rabble who were among them had greedy desires; and also the sons of Israel wept again and said, “Who will give us meat to eat? 5 We remember the fish which we used to eat free in Egypt, the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic, 6 but now our appetite is gone. There is nothing at all to look at except this manna.”
III. Reflection
* Questions: What was the biggest mistake made in the complaints by the Israelites?
IV. Application:
Dear Lord God, I thank You for reminding me that complaints in life have the tendency to lead to mistakes. Because of their complaints, the Israelites did not appreciate what God had miraculously arranged for them as a reliable food supply (manna). Because of their complaints, the Israelites did not appreciate the goodness of God when He took them out of enslavement in Egypt. But worst of all, because of their complaints, the Israelites forgot WHO their God is: "Who will give us meat to eat?" I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your principle in life--seeking You first (Matt 6:33). Dear Lord Jesus: help me do that today--forget You not. Please let me experience that blessings will follow. Subsequently. Amen
