Privilege or Burden...
I. Click here to READ Numbers 9 first.
II. One thing the Bible teaches: (The Lord instructed the Israelites to observe the Passover on the 14th day of the first month of the year at the appointed time...)
6 But there were some men who were unclean because of the dead person, so that they could not observe Passover on that day; so they came before Moses and Aaron on that day. 7 Those men said to him, “Though we are unclean because of the dead person, why are we restrained from presenting the offering of the Lord at its appointed time among the sons of Israel?”
III. Reflection
* Questions: What did some Israelites complain about?
IV. Application:
Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me a number of Your people complaining about losing the opportunity to present an offering to You to worship You. They were so upset that they filed a complaint. Their complaints were resolved; they were able to participate, present offerings, and worship You in observing the Passover. Dear Lord, Jesus, I thank You for taking me to this point to remind me that being able to come to You is an invited grace (Matt 11:28), being able to worship You is a special privilege (Heb 4:16), not a burden. Please help me show my upset, voice my complaint, and demand that my right to worship be restored. On the other hand, please help me, Lord, not to neglect my privilege once I have it. Amen
