II. One thing the Bible teaches(Aaron's family became smaller with the death of his two older sons. The younger two sons had been helping their father out with the priesthood...)

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Bring the tribe of Levi near and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may serve him. They shall perform the duties for him and for the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle. They shall also keep all the furnishings of the tent of meeting, along with the duties of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

III. Reflection

QuestionsBeing a family of three, what would happen to the priesthood when Aaron, Eleazar, and Ithamar passed away?

IV. Application:

Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me Your model of thinking ahead to solve the human resources problem for the ministry. The tribe of Levi was Your renewed supply of that dwindling human resource. They were recruited and appointed. They did not initiate the sequence of events. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of the importance of getting Your people prepared for works of service to build up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12). Dear Lord Jesus, please convict me to realize a dwindling human resource in Your field of harvest. Please help me to be trained to train. Amen
