1 And the Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them, No one shall make himself unclean for the dead among his people, 2 except for his closest relatives, his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, his brother, 3 or his virgin sister (who is near to him because she has had no husband; for her he may make himself unclean).

* Questions: What shows the understanding aspect of God's rules?

IV. Application:

Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me the understanding aspects of Your rules. You do make exceptions, and You do set boundaries. O God, please help me understand Your being a flexible God. Please help me show understanding when exceptions take place in Your servant's life. Please help me obey Your instructions to treat Your servant holy because of his special responsibilities to make offerings to You (Lev 21:8). Please help me to know that exceptions are from You and by You. Please help me not to make exceptions, for me or for anyone else. Amen
