14 “For as for the life of all flesh, its blood is identified with its life. Therefore I said to the sons of Israel, ‘You are not to eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood; whoever eats it shall be cut off.’

III. Reflection

* Questions: How often did the discussions about eating blood appear in this chapter?

IV. Application:

Dear Lord God, I thank You for making it crystally clear that You prohibit Your people from eating blood of any flesh. You emphasized this restriction by repeating it 6 times within 6 verses. You also gave an explanation as to why You prohibit Your people from eating blood. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Yes, Lord! Please help me simply obey You. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that You emptied Yourself... obeyed to the point of death, even death on a cross (Philippians 2:7). O Lord! Please teach me, then train me, and help me, to make myself nothing to obey You as little children do. Amen
