Hearing is insufficient... Looking is the instruction.

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (When there was a reported serious issue of leprosy in the community, the priest must not act on hearing; but...)

The priest shall look...  The priest shall look... The priest shall look... The priest shall look... 10 The priest shall then look... 13 then the priest shall look... 15 The priest shall look... 17 and the priest shall look... 20 And the priest shall look... 25 the priest shall examine... 27 and the priest shall examine... 30 the priest shall examine... 32 ...the priest shall examine... 34 ... the priest shall examine... 36 then the priest shall examine... 39 the priest shall look... 43 Then the priest shall examine him... 50 And the priest shall examine... 51 Then he shall examine... 55 And the priest shall examine...

III. Reflection

Questions: What does the Word of God emphasize here?

IV. Application:

Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me that when facing a serious issue or report of leprosy--a communicable disease--in the community, You want Your priest to make decisions not only by hearing but also by personally looking and examining. You repeatedly emphasize this 20 times in this chapter. It must be crucial in Your eyes because of the consequential social impact on the community of Your people--both the sick and those in good health. O God! I thank You for taking me to this point to remind me that hearing is insufficient, examining is the instruction. Please train me to look at evidence, and examine, before making any decisions (Proverbs 19:2), especially those that affect other people's reputations, lives, and ministries. Amen
