6 “And when the days of her purifying are completed, whether for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the entrance of the tent of meeting a lamb a year old for a burnt offering, and a pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering, 7 and he shall offer it before the Lord and make atonement for her. Then she shall be clean from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who bears a child, either male or female. 

III. Reflection

* Questions: How are the purification requirements different for the Israelite mothers upon giving birth to a male or female newborn?

IV. Application:

Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me that to the Israelite mothers who just gave birth to newborns, the atonement and purification requirements are the same regardless of the gender of the newborns. I thank You, Lord, for taking me to this point to remind me that the need to be redeemed and sanctified for us, humanity, is the same regardless of gender and age, and social class. The Lord Jesus died to save all humanity. The Lord Jesus was raised from the dead to bring hope to all people of the world... the people who receive what He is giving (Jn 3:16). I thank You, Lord Jesus, for giving Yourself as the needed offering for my forever atonement and purification! I am so thankful for the salvation. I thank You for reminding me of the simple, but true, meaning of the Gospel. I pray that today You will give me an opportunity to tell others about this good news. Amen
