II. One thing the Bible teaches: (Bezalel continued his work on building the altar...)
1 Then he made the altar of burnt offering of acacia wood, five cubits long, and five cubits wide, square, and three cubits high. 2 He made its horns on its four corners, its horns being of one piece with it, and he overlaid it with bronze.
III. Reflection
* Questions: What was the difference between the ark's overlaying (ch. 37) and the overlaying of the altar in this chapter?
IV. Application:
Dear Lord God, I thank You for reminding me that Your people had such an outpouring heart to contribute to the construction of the Tabernacle to the point that they were commanded to stop giving. I thank You for showing me that while the ark was overlaid with pure gold, the altar was overlaid with bronze, while other parts of the court were made of silver. You had Your reasons for the differences in the use of the materials; surely, the lack of resources was not one of them. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me of the differences You have created in Your world, especially among the talents of Your people in the family of faith. O Lord! Please help me remember that I am Christ's body and I am an individual, though different, part of it (1 Cor 12:27). Today, please help me to function well as You had intended for me to be and do. Please help me to also gladly accept other parts, though they are different. Amen
