II. One thing the Bible teaches: (the Lord gave instructed Moses about the sin offering...)
10 “Then you shall bring the bull before the tent of meeting. Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull. 11 Then you shall kill the bull before the Lord at the entrance of the tent of meeting, 12 and shall take part of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and the rest of the blood you shall pour out at the base of the altar.
III. Reflection
* Questions: What was the blood of the sacrificial animal to do?
IV. Application:
Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me that the blood of the sacrificial animal was to cover the sin of the high priest or the people by putting blood on the horns of the altar as instructed above (v12). Thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking me to this point to remind me that Your blood--the sinless blood of God the Son--was shed once. And once was adequately effective to remove for good, not just to cover temporarily, our sins. And it was the sin of all humanity, not just that of the Israelites (John 1:29). O Lord! I pray that my living will reflect the jubilation and celebration of a forgiven life. Today. Amen
I pray that certain readers who have yet to have their sins forgiven. Please move them to accept to be cleansed by Your blood, Lord Jesus, so that they can live in peace in Your eye forever. Amen
