13 “Now concerning everything which I have said to you, be on your guard; and do not mention the name of other gods, nor let them be heard from your mouth.

III. Reflection

* Questions: What good can be had from this instruction that our mouths are not to mention the name of other gods?

IV. Application:

Dear Jehovah God: I thank You for instructing me that You are the only true God; there is no need to debate the issue, argue about it, or attempt to make any comparison. Doing any one of these three things will require my mouth to make mention of other people's gods. Please help me to be obedient to this instruction of Yours. Thank You, Lord, for taking me to this point to remind me that there will come a time that in the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11). I do not need to participate in any war of words or anything else. I only need to let Christ live in me. May the Name of the Lord be extolled always! Amen
