From bond-servant to bonded friends...

II. One thing the Bible teaches(The Egyptian people exchanged their livestock for food then their lands for food then their bodies for food in the midst of a devastating famine...

25 So they said, “You [Joseph] have saved our lives! Let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s slaves.”

III. Reflection

QuestionsWith a 20% tax and the selling of livestock, lands, and bodies for food, were the Egyptians forced into slavery?

IV. Application:

Dear Lord God: Thank You for showing me that the Egyptians did one thing they knew best to express their gratitude for being saved from the deadly famine. And that was to offer to be servants to the favor-giver, the Pharaoh. And made servants they were! Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for bringing me to this point to remind me that with Your unique victory against the devil, the spirit of death, You liberate all. No servant was held back! Dear Lord Jesus, today please help me to appreciate the true value of the transformation from being a servant to being a friend of the Savior Jesus Christ (John 15:15). Amen.

I pray for certain readers who are still under the rules of their sin. May they gladly accept Your gracious liberation to be a sheep in Your flock under Your care. Today. Amen
