Priority number one: Ask for atonement.

I. Click here to READ first Genesis 8.

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (The Lord told Noah to leave the ark with his family and the animals. Noah did...)

20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done.

III. Reflection

Questions: Did the Bible say what Noah did between his leaving the ark and his building of the altar? Did the Lord respond to Noah's worshipping?

IV. Application:

Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me that, upon leaving the ark after months of floating amid global destruction, Noah wasted no time building an altar to offer burnt offerings on it. This offering was not for Thanksgiving although there were plenty for Noah and his family to be thankful for after such an experience from the great flood. At that time, however, priority number one for Noah was to ask for the atonement of his and his family's sins through the burnt offerings. When the atonement of sins was asked, the Lord responded pleasantly.

O God! There is no better time than now to ask for Your forgiveness. Please forgive me, O God, to grant me the confidence to enter into Your presence to pray. Please help me to realize this priority #1 in life. Everyday. Amen
