Beyond saying the right thing, He is watching...

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (Abraham's servant prayed for a sign: the young woman who says to me when I ask for a drink, "Drink and I will water your camels." That will be the Lord's pick for Isaac's wife.
17 Then the servant ran to meet her and said, “Please give me a little water to drink from your jar.” 18 She said, “Drink, my lord.” And she quickly let down her jar upon her hand and gave him a drink. 19 When she had finished giving him a drink, she said, “I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking.” 20 So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough and ran again to the well to draw water, and she drew for all his camels. 21 The man gazed at her in silence to learn whether the Lord had prospered his journey or not.
III. Reflection
* Questions: Did the young woman not say the right thing in the servant's prayer? What else did she do? What else did he do?
IV. Application:
Dear Lord God, I thank You for showing me saying the right thing was not enough. The young woman knew it. She followed up with action by doing the right thing as well. The same went for the servant. Hearing the right thing from the young woman wasn't enough; he quietly verified her action. I thank You for taking me to this point to remind me that action speaks louder than words (1 Jn 3:18). O God! Please help me go wholeheartedly beyond saying something, as Isacc's future wife did. And when I fail to do so, please convict me and lead me to repentance. May I know that You are watching. Amen
