Honoring You Fearing You Obeying You...

10 Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son. 11 But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 12 He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

* Questions: What does it mean to fear God?

IV. Application:

Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me that to fear You means to obey You. Actions! And that was what Abraham did. He went when You said, "Go." He climbed when You said, "On one of the mountains." He took the knife to slaughter his son when You said, "Offer him." He did what You told him to do. And that was Your definition of fearing You (v12). It was then, and it is now. I thank You for taking me to this point to remind me that it is this fear that You call the beginning of wisdom (Prov 9:10) O God! Please train me to obey You, starting with the little things in my life. Today. I want to honor You by fearing You by obeying You. Amen
